Additionally, 4K resolution enhancements will be fully compatible with both Blizzard Mountain and Hot Wheels expansions for Forza Horizon 3.
The update is meant to bring native 4K resolution support to Playground Games' popular racer.
Microsoft's list of Xbox One X enhanced games still lists Forza Horizon 3's update as "coming soon", but players should be seeing it roll out around 1PM EST going by the times that previous updates have released. "In addition, we've made a number of graphical improvements to the game, such as increased shadow resolution, improved visual effects and increased LOD and draw distances, which take advantage of the power of the Xbox One X".
But that's not all, the update also brings a few visual upgrades such as improved vehicle reflections, shadow resolutions, improved texture quality for roads and terrain surfaces, and increased levels of detail and draw distances. In other Forza news, tomorrow will see more DLC cars being revealed for Forza Motorsport 7, so look out for that.
Another game enters the ultra HD fold for the Xbox One X super console.
The gaming site Digital Foundry also conducted its own analysis of Forza Horizon 3 under the new 4K patch and claimed that the game does indeed manage native ultra HD graphics with the One X console and when hooked up to a 4K TV.
Forza Horizon 3 already had HDR support for the Xbox One S, and subsequently the Xbox One X on launch.
