Bryan Fuller Helping To Develop TV Series Based On Anne Rice's 'The Vampire Chronicles'

Fuller is being eyed as a potential showrunner for the TV series, which is now underway with Paramount Television and Anonymous Content. Fuller, the creative force behind such fan-favorite series as Pushing Daisies, Hannibal, American Gods and Star Trek: Discovery, is a solid choice.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount TV president Amy Powell was asked about the network's much-anticipated Vampire Chronicles series, which she is calling "the Vampire Chronicles initiative".

Fuller's attachment was also announced on The Vampire Chronicles' Facebook page, in which Chris Rice, Anne's son, tells a story about a young Fuller cold-calling Anne Rice as a teenager and telling her he would adapt her books one day.

Bryan Fuller is working on a Lestat TV series with Anne Rice; basically the ultimate dream-team for fans of bloody gothic romance. The adaptation resulted in critical and financial success, with co-star Kirsten Dunst earning herself a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Golden Globe Awards at only 12 years old.

As one of the most popular vampire series, there's a constant clamor for more adaptations of the books. "For a year now, my mother and I have had the joy of working with creative partners at Paramount Television and Anonymous Content who share our vision for a prestigious, long-form, high quality and high production value television series focusing on the journey of the immortal Lestat as he travels the lengths of the vampire world detailed in The Vampire Chronicles", he writes.

"It is undeniable that Anne Rice has created the paradigm against which all vampire stories are measured". It's high time we saw another Vampire Chronicles adaptation, and with the current trend for big-budget TV, you'll get all the gore and sexy vampire melodrama you could possibly want.

Given Fuller's mastery of blending romance with the macabre, he makes the flawless choice to help develop this series. The second, is the announcement of this thrilling partnership with Paramount Television and Anonymous Content.
