After finally securing the services of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, the club swiftly completed another deal in the shape of the Colombian defender for a measly £10 million.

The 23-year-old Mina was signed from Brazilian club Palmeiras for 11.8 million euros ($14.3 million), "fulfilling a dream" and joining a defense that has been depleted by the injury of France global Samuel Umtiti.

Barcelona recently confirmed the signing of Yerry Mina from Palmeiras, and the player was revealed to the press media today.

'For me it's a source of indescribable pride because I have always dreamed about it and now the chance has come to be here with these great figures, ' Mina told the club's official website. "The first impression I got of him was one of humility", Mina was quoted as saying by FourFourtTwo.

The idiosyncratic defender also attracted attention for his unique choice of footwear: in that he didn't wear any, choosing to walk the pitch barefooted.

"There is a verse in life that says that the soles of your feet will touch the land that you want to conquer", Mina said. They have a lot of the ball and as we all know, they're the best team in the world. Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen are all firmly ahead of the Colombian in the pecking order. I was given the opportunity to come now and I did not think twice. I'm going to work to bring something to the best players in the world. I will be calm and I'll try to control the adrenaline and I'll adapt to the group with my dancing. I have to go step by step.
