Back in 2016, Detective Pikachu released exclusively in Japan as Detective Pikachu - Birth of a New Duo.
It was announced today that Detective Pikachu will be released as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive in the USA and Europe on March 23. This coffee-slurping, gun-shooting version of Pikachu is helping a boy named Tim find his father. When used, it will allow players to view all Pika Prompts - short video clips - from completed chapters and those which they missed finding earlier. Featuring a speaking role for the ever popular Pokemon, the game represents a very unique spinoff.
Nintendo of America has just announced that the game is getting localized, and is due out March 23. Over here in the States, however, the name sounds familiar because Legendary Entertainment is working on a film based off of the Detective Pikachu game (which most recently signed on Ryan Reynolds to voice the titular Pokemon).
There's also be a giant-sized amiibo to be released alongside it, that will give you instant access to in-game cut scenes, instead of having to unlock them normally by playing the game. Look forward to plenty of other fascinating people in Ryme City.but it's up to you to figure out who to trust!
The Detective Pikachu movie is set for release on May 10, 2019.
The first trailer for Detective Pikachu is certainly a little different.
We're hopeful the amiibo will come to Australia too, we'll let you know when we hear from Nintendo Australia.
