Dark Souls Remastered Runs At Upscaled 4K/60FPS On PS4 Pro and XB1X

Nintendo Direct conference

NINTENDONintendo Direct is rumoured to take place later today

Dark Souls Remastered will run at 60fps (compared to the 30fps of the original version) and will support up to six online players.

As it turns out, a few links that VaatiVidya scoured had bad information and the upcoming remaster will not use any new assets and HDR lightning on PS4 Pro (also confirmed by Playstation US Blog). For comparison purposes, the game will run with upscaled 4K on Xbox One and PS4 Pro, and there is no mention at all for the quality of their textures.

This practice isn't uncommon for players on the Steam platform, often being entitled to discounts when owning the original game when a remaster is inbound.

Prepare to Cry as Dark Souls Remastered lands on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on May. There's the soundtracks for each of the games, a bookend set for you to store everything, 10 art prints with frames and three large physical dictionaries with item descriptions for everything across the series.

At this point, developer From Software's Dark Souls doesn't need much explaining. It features Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, Dark Souls 3: The Fire Fades Edition.

In GameSpot's original Dark Souls review Kevin VanOrd awarded it a 9.5/10, describing it as "riveting". It's a beloved, influential game that is critically acclaimed and has a fanbase as passionate about it today as they were when it originally launched in.

If surprise Total War games aren't your thing, how about surprise Dark Souls ones? The price is definitely steep, but it is packed with collectibles for the biggest "Dark Souls" fans out there. "Dark Souls doesn't just surpass other dungeon crawlers; it skewers them with a razor-sharp halberd and leaves behind their soulless corpses".
