Her mother raised Bella and her three sisters, and the actress has previously talked of her hard childhood, saying she suffered from dyslexia and was bullied at school for speaking Spanish.
Rob Lowe had some choice words for Bella Thorne after the actress complained Thursday about Los Angeles traffic keeping her from getting to her boyfriend rapper Mod Sun's concert in time. "I'm missing my boyfriend's first date on his tour", she wrote.
A few hours after Thorne posted her tweet, Lowe shared a screenshot of her post on Instagram along with the caption, "This attitude is why people hate celebrities/Hollywood". Bella, I'm sorry you were inconvenienced. What, we hope, Bella didn't realize is that the roadway was closed due to deadly mudslides.
Dozens of stranded residents also have been rescued by helicopter in areas of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. Lowe and his family are among those that had to evacuate their Montecito homes.
Winfrey later appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" via FaceTime and shared an up-close-and-personal look at some of the damage.
"This is not a river", she wrote.
Rob Lowe slams Bella Thorne for insensitive tweet about California mudslides
Although Bella has yet to respond to Rob directly, she did ~sort of~ acknowledge her social media snafu.
On Twitter she posted, "I never knew what was right or wrong growing up.I didn't know the person sneaking into my bed room at night was a bad person. I am sending thoughts, prayer [s] and money to help!"
However, in defense of the young actress, she didn't know why the traffic slowed down, so her tweet was merely ignorant, and not pretentious or careless as Rob suggested. She said, "had no idea why the 101 was shut down" and she implored those affected to get home to their family safe.
A representative for Thorne has been contacted for comment.
