President Trump to Announce 'Fake News Media' Awards Monday

Stephen Colbert launched a "campaign" during his show Wednesday night to be considered for President Trump's "Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards".

'I will be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o'clock, ' United States president tweets.

And an October Politico/Morning Consult poll found nearly half of voters believe the news media make up stories about Trump and his administration. "Stay tuned!", he wrote on Twitter.

The Trump campaign's email links to a poll where participants can vote on three media stories as "fake", "faker" or "fakest" news.

USA president Donald Trump has had a complicated relationship with American media in his almost one year of presidency.

In November, Trump suggested there should be a contest among news networks, excluding Fox News, for the "Fake News Trophy".

ABC News incorrectly claiming Trump ordered Michael Flynn to contact Russian officials while a candidate. They are all bad.

Trump also warned his followers not to trust off-the-record stories, whose anonymous tipsters are often quoted as 'sources, ' to protect their identities, writing: 'It is very possible that those sources don't exist but are made up by fake news writers'.

"At President Trump's request, we are holding a contest to name the 2017 KING of Fake News". And we want to hear from you'.

To make sure he wouldn't get "snubbed" at Trump's awards, Colbert purchased a billboard in Times Square in New York City for his "For Your Consideration" ad in Trump's awards.

However, considering no one from the outlets that will be awarded would likely attend, it seems more logical that the "awards" will be announced on the president's favorite platform- Twitter.
