Kevin Gates Has Been Released From Jail

Kevin Gilyard-who goes by the stage name Kevin Gates-had been serving time at the East Moline Correctional Center since April 2017.

Hip hop Twitter has been celebrating his release from prison all day.

Gates is probably most known for his continuous videos on Instagram that featured his children and always delivered a different message to his fans.

Billboard reached out to Gates' reps for comment.

While behind bars, Gate released a mixtape titled By Any Means 2.

Gates' first sentence stemmed from his 2015 battery charge after an alleged altercation with a female fan at a Florida concert. On Oct. 26, 2016, the recording artist was convicted of the charge and was later sentenced to six months in prison.

Gates served nine months of a 30-month sentence on a felony gun possession charge in a 2013 IL case, TMZ reported.
