Chrissy Teigan, model and TV host did just that when she Tweeted how much she enjoyed playing the game, wondering whether she could have the same experience again. As it so happens, Mechner wound up seeing Teigen's tweet and explained to her that he and a handful of others are trying to garner interest in reviving the series.
However, the game's original creator, Jordan Mechner, has hinted that he's now trying to convince Ubisoft to raise the prince from his slumber.
It's been a long time since we've seen Prince of Persia with the latest release being the 2013 iOS game "Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame" and the last console release being the 2010 "Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands". "We're doing our best to make it happen!".
Whilst Mechner developed the very first Prince of Persia games, he also helped other Ubisoft games come to fruition and is still synonymous with the series.
Considering Assassin's Creed has its roots in Prince of Persia, it's definitely time for the former to retire for a few years. What's more, the original Assassin's Creed was actually going to be a true spin-off from the Prince of Persia series before it was fully realized. Look at the best old games on PC for more grim reminders of your mortality. Mechner said on Twitter, though he sadly didn't elaborate further.
Do you believe Prince of Persia will make a comeback in the near future?
