HTC is all set to launch a new smartphone on 15th January 2018 in China. This hasn't officially been confirmed yet, but it's a safe bet given the fact that HTC emphasized the word Eye in its Weibo post. This is all very timely, as prolific tipster Evan Blass has tipped the exact same date for the launch of the HTC U11 EYEs, and leaked images, price, and specifications of the smartphone, formerly rumoured as the HTC Harmony.
The U11 EYEs is expected to launch on January 15th for ￥3,299 (~$510 USD).
What we know is that there will be two cameras on the front and one on the back, there will also be a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device.
The HTC U11 EYEs is codenamed Harmony and comes with a curving rear glass that will mostly be treated to shades of bold colors like red, black and silver with a tinge of blue. IP67 water resistance and Edge Sense (read: squeezable frame) are also present. Other U11 Eye specifications will include 64GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and 3930 mAh battery. The processor that powers the phone is Snapdragon 652 octa-core.
The only downside though is the possibility that the device will launch with Android Nougat as opposed to the latest Android Oreo. Besides, there is also onboard the superb aspect ratio of 18:9 while it rocks the all-new Super LCD-5 display panel.
Reports say the phone could land in Hong Kong, China, and HTC's home country Taiwan first, and then in other markets, including the USA, as HTC Harmony.
