According to reports, Sony intends to showcase the following smartphones at MWC 2018: Xperia XZ1 Premium, Xperia XZ1 Plus, and Xperia XZ1s. Pricing details of the Xperia smartphones have not been revealed yet. This is something odd if we compare the new models with any of the previous Sony smartphones that were debuted with a fingerprint sensor-embedded, side-located power button. The line-up includes Xperia XA, XA Ultra, and L. As far as the design is concerned, Sony has not made any noticeable change. With a focus on selfies, the Xperia XA2 features an 8-megapixel front camera with an ultra wide fixed-focus that gives 120-degree field-of-view for enhanced group selfies.
This model shares the same Snapdragon 630 chip as its sibling, and also touts a one-touch rear fingerprint sensor.
Both the Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra are powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor clocked at 2.2GHz with Adreno 308 GPU. Sony fit a 3,300 mAh battery that is 40 percent larger than before.
On the back is a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture while an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens adorns the front.
Both the models are expected to carry 4GB of RAM and 64GB of default storage capacity. The phone comes with a 5.5-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. This offers an ISO up to 12,800 for taking photos in little light as well as support for 4K video recording.
The Xperia XA2 features specs that are almost identical to the XA2 Ultra, but squeezed into a more compact housing with a 5.2-inch FHD display. It might be the fact that the display on the Xperia L2 has massive borders. Although both phones do support Qnovo Adaptive Charging, as well as a number of other software tweaks created to improve battery life in general. Available in the USA, color options include Silver, Black, Blue, and Pink.
The Sony Xperia XA2 measures 142x70x9.7mm and weighs 171 grams, while the Xperia XA2 Ultra has 163x80x9.5mm dimensions and comes with 221 grams of weight.
Sony has provided 4G LTE in addition to connectivity options such as FM radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port on both the new smartphones. And depending on the market, the Sony Xperia XA2 will be available in either single or dual-SIM configurations, which will make it especially useful for those who are constantly hopping from one place to another.
