Despite the surprising and disappointing box-office showing of "Justice League", though, it has helped in pushing Warner Bros.' passing the $5 billion mark at the worldwide box office this year.

Does this indicate a positive turn of events in the DCEU, or are you anxious that Warner Bros. might dilute a brand that's already having an identity crisis by shifting it under a single WB production banner? A search is underway for his replacement, these people say.

Berg is said to be segueing into a role as producer for Warner Bros., working alongside The Lego Movie and It producer Roy Lee. "I first met Jon when, as a producer, he brought "Elf" to New Line, which remains one of the best and most evergreen titles in the library".

Naturally, hearing this from Hecker will only increase fans' desires for a Snyder cut, which could result in Warner Bros. putting out a new version of the film down the line.

Warners is expected to name a new person to run point on DC's films. But "going forward, his contributions to the films may evolve, and could be more advisory in nature".

Furthermore, sources close to Variety have said that Emmerich is "weighing the idea of further integrating DC's film operations" into the main movie arm at Warner Bros.

"Justice League", released last month, was beset by misfortune.

What should comes as no surprise, it's being reported Warner Bros.is giving the DCEU an overhaul following the disappointment of Justice League.

Berg and Johns were intimately involved in the production. In fact, many reviews were particularly harsh about Steppenwolf, criticizing the character for being one-note and the product of unconvincing visual effects.

Zack Snyder, who directed and produced Justice League before he had to step down due to a family tragedy, will stay on as producer and exec producer of Aquaman and Wonder Woman 2.

While "Justice League" is the lowest-grossing DCEU (DC Extended Universe) movie at the US box-office, the same thing can not be said about it in China as it is now officially the highest-grossing DC movie ever released in the said country. It appears Warner Bros. share the same opinion, and the studio has begun a huge shake-up a mere twenty days after the film hit cinema screens.

The execs are said to be happy with how Justice League introduced both Ezra Miller's The Flash and Jason Momoa's Aquaman. The studio is "still developing a standalone Flash feature".
