"I, Tonya" premieres December 8 in NY and Los Angeles and widely on January 19.
Tonya Harding walked the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of "I, Tonya" at the Egyptian Theatre.
When Harding's place on the US team is threatened by Nancy Kerrigan (Caitlin Carver), though, Jeff and his friend Shawn (Paul Walter Hauser) hire men to break her leg.
The song arrives just in time for the release of the Margot Robbie-starring biopic I, Tonya (though the song has no official affiliation with the movie).
The stars aligned for Allison Janney when she dressed up in a cheap fur coat, perched a parakeet on her shoulder, and chain-smoked and swore through figure-skating movie "I, Tonya".
Allison Janney, one of the stars of the film, recently appeared on "Ellen" and she talked about what it was like to meet the infamous figure skater whose career ended after a high-profile scandal.
(L-R) Craig Gillespie, Sebastian Stan, Steven Rogers, Allison Janney, Tonya Harding, Paul Walter Hauser, Margot Robbie and Tom Quinn attend the after party for the premiere of "I, Tonya" on December 5, 2017 in Hollywood, California. Once the story moves into the meat of the action, though - from Tonya moving in with Jeff to the insanity that follows - she paints a layered and unexpectedly sympathetic portrait as the most seemingly trustworthy of the film's alternating narrators.
Kerrigan was clubbed in the thigh in an attack orchestrated by Harding's ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, that led to Harding being banned for life from the US Figure Skating Association. "She does care", said Janney.
Gillooly, Stant and Eckhardt all served prison time for the attack, while Harding was given three years probation.
It starts off at breakneck speed and doesn't look back, as the film and its characters bulldoze their way through Tonya's ascension to the top of the US figure skating team in short zippy, amusing scenes that are backed by a catchy soundtrack.
