Damishi Sango, the state chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), in Plateau has reportedly been kidnapped alongside his son.
The Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Plateau State, John Akans, confirmed the demand.
Sango, it was further learnt was on his way to Abuja to attend his party's national convention slated to hold on Saturday, December 9.
He said, "The kidnappers are demanding N100m".
Sango was abducted with his companions along Jere-Kagarko road in Kaduna state while travelling in a Lexus jeep which has now been stationed at the Jere police station.
"They are still with their abductors. We are waiting to see whether the kidnappers will reduce the ransom tomorrow". I woke up this morning with a lot of missed calls and when I called his personal assistant, he broke the news that Chairman was kidnapped on his way to Abuja. Emmanuel Tuang, disclosed this in an interview with Daily Sun at the party secretariat, in Jos, and said the party has no formal communication from the abductors.
He said, "The Jere Road has been a flashpoint and Kaduna State is a den of kidnappers".
"Those holding him called this afternoon".
"They told us that the vehicle was with them and there was no occupant".
Party stakeholders from his country home in Riyom such as former federal lawmaker, Simon Mwadkwon, and the state Commissioner for Finance, Mang, have called on the Federal Government to make Nigerian roads safer for travellers with the establishment of security checkpoints at intervals on major highways in the country.
However, the Kaduna State Police Command has said special forces had been dispatched to rescue Sango and four others. But let me confirm that Damishi Sango has been kidnapped because we have received the signal from Kaduna.
