Barcelona continue to remain interested in Coutinho, after a summer where they failed to prise the Brazilian away from Liverpool.

PHILIPPE COUTINHO has refused to confirm if he will be at Liverpool next month.

Liverpool's focus on attack this season has drawn comparisons to the team from the 2013-14 season, in which Liverpool came within just one win of the Premier League title as they finished just below Manchester City.

This January transfer market will force Liverpool's owners, Fenway Sports Group, to weigh up what they value and whether losing Coutinho is worth that prize, with Ferdinand backing the star to deserve such a hefty cost.

"I'll stick my neck on the block", Owen said. What will happen in January, we will know it in January.

The pundit was speaking with ex-Norway worldwide Jan Aage Fjortoft of viaSport after Liverpool's 7-0 annihilation of Spartak Moscow in their final Champions League group stage clash while Coutinho joined the duo to discuss the game itself.

Liverpool's marquee player Philippe Coutinho was the subject of intense interest from Barcelona last summer, however a move never materialised in the end.

"Since I have stayed, I have played with will and desire". "I do not know if there will be an offer", explained the Brazilian, being completely frank.

Coutinho has shown his versatility under the management of Jurgen Klopp and has transformed into arguably one of the best playmakers in World football.

After missing the start of the season through injury, Coutinho has since scored nine goals in 13 appearances - including a hat-trick in Wednesday's 7-0 thrashing of Spartak Moscow in the Champions League.

"I am at Liverpool and whenever I have the opportunity to get on the pitch I give my best, with a lot of respect for this shirt and the fans".
