Without going under a knife, Vidya has worked on her own terms. "It'd be great if there could be a change in people's perception". Yet the actress is subjected to questions that are downright insulting to her stature.
Recently, while a promotional meeting of her upcoming release Tumhari Sulu, Vidya was asked if "she would only be doing women-centric movies or has she thought about losing her weight". Vidya Balan, two-time National award-winning actress, literally has filmmakers writing roles for her where she plays the main protagonist. The film's story revolves around a homemaker who later discovers her talent as a radio jockey and then faces the twist and turns of life.
Directed by debutante Suresh Triveni, the film is produced under the banners of T-Series and Ellipsis Entertainment.
Vidya was caught up in an awkward situation when a media person threw a shocking, yet an unexpected question, on her way.
The reporter asked Vidya, "All your films that we have seen so far, have been women-centric films". In reality, the fact that a reporter asked Vidya Balan about her plans of weightloss only angers us, but doesn't surprise us. The weird question left the actress visibly shocked. Earlier in an interview with BollywoodLife, Vidya had said that her role is very different from that of Lage Raho Munnabhai. Do share your views in the comments section below!
