Governor Umahi Bars Party Logos, Symbols As Buhari Visits Ebonyi

The president recalled that he had pledged to fulfill all campaign promises he made to the zone when the leaders visited him in October. I thank you all.

Buhari noted that his visit was an affirmation of his administration's commitment to achieving a united Nigeria for the benefit of all citizens.

All who is who in the state were on ground to welcome the President except the immediate past governor of the State, Chief Martin Elechi who was conspicuously missing. "It is an honour that is well deserved, it has helped us a lot, especially in the area of agricultural revolution", the governor said.

From Enugu, the president headed to Ebonyi.

He also appealed to the federal government to solve the lingering boundary disputes between Ebonyi and its neighbouring states such as Cross River and Benue.

On arrival in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Buhari inaugurated a number of road projects including two flyovers on the section of the African Trans-Saharan Highway that runs between Enugu and Cameroon.

He unveiled the statue of the late Sir Akanu Ibiam.

One of the titles, Ochioha NdiIgbo 1 (Igbo Warrior), was conferred on him by South East traditional council of rulers led by Eze Eberechi Dick, while the other, Enyioma 1of Ebonyi (A good Friend), was conferred on him by the Ebonyi traditional council of rulers led by Eze Charles Mkpuma.

President Buhari flanked by Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State commissioning the 14.5 k Federal Road constructed by Ebonyi State Government.

The presidency has been celebrating the chieftaincy titles on its official social media accounts.
