Footwear major Bata India today reported a 23.99 per cent increase in its standalone net profit to Rs 42.89 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.
Gross NPA has reduced quarter-on-quarter to 11.16% from 11.4%, while net NPA has improved to 5.05% from 5.17% in the previous quarter.
The company's turnover jumped 39% to Rs 2,421 crore for the quarter under review compared to Rs 1,739 crore for Q2 of 2016-17.
Its total expenses in the second quarter 2017-18 was at Rs 537.61 crore, down 1.12 per cent, as against Rs 543.71 crore.
The gas utility marketed 5 per cent more gas by volume during the quarter in consideration, the statement said. Strong performance in Natural Gas Transmission and Marketing is supported by increase in Sales volumes in these segments.
Revenue dropped marginally by around 1per cent to Rs12,409.65 crore.
The company posted total income of Rs 2,531.18 crore for the second quarter as against Rs 2,012.64 crore for the corresponding quarter past year.
GAIL India ended at Rs 456.45, up Rs 1.20, or 0.26 percent on the BSE.
