Newcastle United are preparing for the visit of West Ham United on Saturday, however they will be without five players, with two others a further doubt.

Newcastle only spent one season in the Championship but it hasn't been the return to the top flight they would have hoped for.

He said: "When I said I would stay, it was because of the city, the fans, the stature of the club, the Premier League and it was close to my family".

It's only three or four matches in the season.

Rafa Benitez stresses the importance of Newcastle supporters as the Magpies look to overturn their winless start. He looks like broken man.

West Ham's teenage midfielder Declan Rice squandered possession and Mikel Merino pounced, setting Christian Atsu free for a cross that Joselu poked home under pressure from two defenders.

It was Sakho's first goal since he scored in a 1-1 draw at Manchester United last November, the Senegal striker having had a cruel time with injuries since. "They were better in everything, especially in determination and wanting to win second balls and making a transition when doing that".

"So a little bit of this is going to help us in preparation for the game against Newcastle on Saturday".

"I don't think loaning him out is the answer".

"They were better in the second ball and better in transition". Plus he is left-footed, which usually is an asset for teams when looking for partnerships - most being right footed.

Ciaran Clark is a class act but whisper it quietly.

Will Slaven Bilic still be the West Ham boss after the worldwide break? "It will make it easier for us to get three points".

"This week, we've kept working hard in training and we've tried to take that into the game today".

"We have to keep going".

"We know what is at stake, but of course we still feel positive".

"I believe we have enough quality, but now we need to fight for it, show character and carry the responsibility ourselves".

He said: "Sometimes you can do business, sometimes you can't, but we're looking for solutions".
