A test conducted by a digital agency showed that Goggle Home is six times better than Amazon Alexa in answering 3,000 questions. Alexa continues to gain new skills that go far beyond simply looking up facts on the web and ordering products from Amazon. It is essentially a newer version of the original Echo smart speaker, but with a completely different design to accommodate a built-in 7-inch touchscreen display. After all, no one now has an Echo that has a screen that's lit up all of the time, or that can receive video calls.
In the past we've seen Amazon drop the price of the Echo by $30, and even by $45 just last month, but this is the steepest discount we've seen to date. Echo connects to the Alexa Voice Service to play music, make calls, send and receive messages, provide information, news, sports scores, weather, and more. Anyone that owns an Echo now knows that at times, it can be a bit tricky to choose specific songs or albums to play via voice interaction, so a screen should prove to be helpful. It also provides hands-free voice control to Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn. Alexa on the Echo Show works with front door or baby monitoring cameras from Ring and Arlo. For today only, Amazon will sell you a standard Echo for $129.99, shaving $50 off the list price.
