And in all of those statements, Constand said Cosby sexually assaulted her and she did not consent. Constand said the calls were about Temple women's basketball, and they ended when she stopped working there.
The 75-year-old attorney said she was baffled because she thought the phone was turned off. It wasn't until Constand began having nightmares that she confided in her mother.
"I was just confused", she said. What struck you about her testimony today?
Pierro, who moved to D.C. a month ago from Peru, countered and said, "I don't think the jury makeup will play a huge role into it".
"I called him on the 14th", she said.
Allred's phone made noise Wednesday afternoon as a Cosby defence lawyer questioned chief accuser Andrea Constand.
The defense may be able to use that admission to suggest that Constand was aware Cosby was interested in her romantically and therefore went to his home knowing that she might have a sexual encounter.
(Gianna Constand testified that the beep in question wasn't actually the tape machine, nor the family parrot, but rather someone trying to call through on the other line).
Gianna Constand also critiqued Agrusa's line of questioning. "I feel like it sounds perverted'".
Cosby is charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault, which each carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $33,000 fine. Cosby has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Gianna Constand says she missed a chance to record the call in which Cosby shared lewd details of the January 2004 encounter.
The mother testified about two phone calls she had with Cosby in January 2005, one lasting more than two hours and another, much shorter call the next day.
Later that day, Constand testified, Cosby groped her breast, and placed her hand on his penis. "This man was a trustee at Temple".
Standing at a podium, the lawyer painstakingly reviewed Constand's phone records and police statements, hoping to show she changed her mind about the date of the alleged assault and gave authorities an incomplete picture of her friendship with the TV star. Constand has said neither of those assertions was correct.
The lawyer focused on about half a dozen calls of varying duration to Cosby's home in NY over a particular 24-hour period. Andrea Constand walks to the courtroom during Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pa., Tuesday, June 6, 2017.
"I wanted him to stop", she told the jury. Legal experts say the case will essentially boil down to her word against his. At his home one evening in 2004, he pressed her to take three blue pills, which he said were herbal and would help her relax, she said. He said quote, "they're your friends". During that call, Cosby avoided any discussion of the incident and instead suggested he would be willing to pay for Constand to attend graduate school. Cosby is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Constand at his home.
Constand says the mood was friendly and the room light enough to eat.
Constand's testimony represents the first time she has spoken out publicly about the incident.
After briefly losing consciousness, she felt Cosby touching her private parts, she testified.
It is the defense's job, of course, to make such arguments: these are the most effective ones available.
She says Cosby became more flirtatious and suggestive over time, once grabbing her thigh and later attempting to unbutton her trousers. He described his sexual contact with her daughter and claimed it was consensual, she said.
"Yes ma'am, I said I was mistaken", Ms Constand replied. "It was a lot of confusion putting a lot of dates together". There were a few efforts to reach Cosby the December after she left the university, though. Constand's case is the only one in which Cosby has been charged. And in Cosby's case, over 60 women have come forward and only now, in 2017, is the actor standing trial for a single accusation out of that bunch.
