Police Respond to Liquor Store for Officer Involved Shooting

Hampton police said in a press release Tuesday that Leonard Allen Morrison III shot an officer who chased him down after Monday's attempted robbery of a GameStop.

Just before 12:30 p.m., a New Hampshire state trooper spotted the stolen truck, at the state liquor store off of Interstate 95, according to officials.

The attorney general's office and state police are investigating.

I-95 southbound remained open during the investigation; however, officials closed the entrance to the liquor store.

The two State Troopers have been placed on paid administrative leave, and their names are being withheld.

Neither police nor the Attorney General's Office would confirm whether the search for the truck and the liquor store incident were related.

Anyone who saw the pick-up truck between noon and 12:30 asked to contact New Hampshire State Police at 603-223-4381.

The two men were seen leaving the area in a silver sedan with money and other items from the store.

He added that one of the suspects opened fire on police, hitting the injured officer.

Short drove around the building a few times and said she wasn't able to get any information about what was happening or where to go.
