"After I lost my hearing, I gave up", she said.

In a show-stopping, standing-ovation performance Tuesday, deaf singer-songwriter Mandy Harvey wowed the audience and the judges on America's Got Talent.

Via her interpreter, she told the judging panel on the show that she had lost her hearing at the age of 18. The Facebook page tends to be where the bulk of the internet traffic does tend to come from for some of these acts, but this viewership all but confirms that she and Darci Lynne are two of the favorites to beat this season.

Incredibly, she was able to re-learn how to sing after becoming ill though muscle memory and using muscle memory.

Mandy attributes her faith in Jesus Christ to getting her through the loss of her sense of hearing.

Harvey stepped on the stage in contact with her translator who stood next to the judges. "But I want to do more with my life than just give up", before the audience erupts into energetic cheers and applause. "That was one of the most unbelievable things I've ever seen and heard".

"Incredible. I've done this a long time, that was one of the most awesome things I've ever seen and heard", he told her, giving her a hug on stage.

The show is now in their twelfth season and the judges for this season are Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell. With this Mandy will go straight to the live shows round of America's Got Talent Season 12.

She sang a song she had written herself, Try. And Mandy delivered quite the wonderful performance, leaving not one dry eye left in the building. Cowell said, "Mandy, I don't think you are going to need a translator for this", as he pushed the golden buzzer. "Just the fact that you are you, but it was your voice, your tone, the song was attractive".
