California Gov. Brown Says US Will Stay in Climate Fight

President Donald Trump called the Paris climate accord "draconian" and "onerous" when he announced the USA would withdraw from the agreement, but the decision's benefits to Indiana's energy landscape are unclear.

Failure to step up action against global warming would be "disastrous", California Governor Jerry Brown warned on Tuesday as he seeks to fill the USA leadership vacuum on climate change.

The facts are that more people see climate change as a real issue worthy of strong consideration.

The goal of the California-China agreement is to "deepen cooperation on the development of green technology", the governor's office said in a press release.

"Xi spoke in very positive terms", Brown told reporters after the meeting.

Anderson, who has multiple sclerosis, said that whatever Trump says about healthcare will matter to her much more than his thoughts on global temperatures.

But many businesses and climate activists say policies aimed at addressing climate change are good for the overall economy.

"The Hawaii State Legislature understands the importance of taking action, and I applaud its work this session to ensure that we continue to deliver the island Earth that we want to leave to our children". That sector provides 75 percent of the state's electricity.

"Obviously I'm disappointed with the current American administration decision to put out of Paris", Obama said. He said that in the wake of that withdrawal, the onus would be on state and local politicians to do what Trump would not to combat climate change.

"It's backward looking and it's going to hurt the US", he said. The idea behind nonbinding pledges in general was just that: if every party decided on their own, voluntary pledge, there would be a low barrier for entry but a high likelihood of follow-through, because each country pledged what was technologically and politically possible for them to fulfil.
