This is the 33rd La Liga title for Real Madrid.

Kameni made a brilliant stop to prevent Ronaldo from scoring a second goal after 33 minutes, when Benzema's cross was allowed to run by Mikel Villanueva, and the Malaga goalkeeper blocked a low drive from Toni Kroos moments later. He has refereed Real Madrid four times with two victories, one draw and one loss.

Madrid played with an extra man after the controversial sending off of Celta forward Iago Aspas, who picked up a second yellow in the 62nd minute for an alleged dive inside the area after a challenge by Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.

Madrid claimed the trophy despite taking just one point from their two Clasico encounters with Barcelona.

Barcelona lost their Spanish league title to rivals Real Madrid despite beating Eibar with a remarkable second-half turnaround. "I don't feel like we're the champions yet, we still need to pick up more points and keep on with what we're doing".

Malaga could be tricky because it has been in strong form recently.

However, the fact the winning margin was a mere three points shows Madrid needed to fall back on every member of a seemingly endless pool of talent and every one of a series of late fightbacks to hold off the Catalans.

This has not just been a case of Madrid bullying La Liga's minnows because they have scored against sides like Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid in Europe as well as home and away versus Barcelona and Atletico in domestic action.

"We are Real Madrid, we are the best and we want to be champions".

Few of these players were at the club when they won the league in 2012 so tasting domestic glory is new to them. Barcelona achieved the treble in 2009 and 2015. The last time they failed to net was against Manchester City in April 2016 during the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

In Luis Enrique's last home match as Barca boss, Eibar went 2-0 up through two stunning Takashi Inui strikes. It is trying to avoid its biggest title drought in the league since the 1980s.

Sandro Ramirez joined Barça at the age of 14 when he was accepted into the famed La Masia academy and is hoping that if he scores against Real on Sunday it will be enough to hand the title to his former club after spending a total of seven years with them.

Third-placed Atletico had already qualified for the Champions League, along with fourth-placed Sevilla, which will have to go through a playoff to get into the competition's group stage.

Villarreal will play at Valencia, and Real Sociedad visits Celta.

"But the most hard part is still to come even though we're getting closer (to the title) every day. More than very good", Mourinho added.
